OUR DIRECTORS
At Tara Nursery and Primary School we are privileged to have an enthusiastic and dedicated group of Board of Directors. The governing body influences the ethos of the school: its philosophy and the general atmosphere with a view of promoting high standards of educational achievement .managing the school finances, making sure the curriculum is balanced and broadly based appointing staff and reviewing staff performance and pay.
SCHOOL MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE
We have an extremely active School Management Committee at Tara Nursery and Primary School. The School Management Committee includes representatives of parents and staff including the Head teacher. The school management committee is intended:
- To foster more extended relationships between staff, parents and others associated with the school.
- To engage in activities which promote the school’s development and advance the education of the pupils attending it.
- To promote partnership between the school, its pupils and all its parents.
- To develop and engage in activities which support the education and welfare of the pupils.
- To identify and represent the views of parents on the education provided by the school and other matters affecting the education and welfare of the pupils.
For the academic year 2017, our School Management Committee is made up as follows:

SCHOOL HISTORY
Tara Nursery and Primary School –Kampala Limited was founded in Namuwongo Village – Muyenga, Kampala in February 1996 as Nursery school. After three years s later-1999- the school was expanded to include a primary school section due to popular demand.
The schools become a licensed primary school gained licensed status under the Ministry of Education in 2005 The school has grown from a small education institution of with an initial population of 8 Pupils to a current population of 461 pupils 281 day Scholars and 198 Boarders. Permanent class room blocks have been constructed to replace the original wooden structures to accommodate the growing school population.
LEGAL STATUS
The school was originally registered with the Uganda Registration Services Bureau as a partnership before upgrading its legal status to a Company Limited By Shares under the Company registration No 80020000468024.
The Primary School is also registered with the Ministry of Education under the registration No. MOE –EMIS-130244 -Reg-PSS/T/029.
The Nursery School is registered independently with the Ministry of Education under the registration No. Nur-M.O.E –EMIS-12305-Reg-PNS/T/051
